Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a symptom commonly associated with Fibromyalgia, and is sometimes referred to as spastic colon, colitis, or functional bowel disease. It is characterized by painful spasms of the colon, causing constipation, diarrhea, gas, cramps, and/or bloating. The pain and discomfort disappear immediately following bowel evacuation. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is not life-threatening, and does not cause long term damage to the gastrointestinal tract, but it can cause frustration and anxiety, especially when it is so serious as to restrict travel and social activity.

Fibromyalgia Treatments

Fibromyalgia treatments are as varied as the symptoms they address. Because the disease affects the body and mind on many levels, Fibromyalgia treatments must provide a wide spectrum of effects. An effective course of therapy might include such strategies as exercise programs, heat therapy, chiropractic treatment, herbs and nutrition, and other Fibromyalgia treatments.
